Zara Sheikh (Urdu: ???? ???) (born May 7, 1978 in Lahore, Pakistan) is a famous Pakistani model and actress. Zara Sheikh is a successful model who was well known in the world of fashion well before she made her debut in feature films.

Zara began her career as a model while she was still a relatively young student. Her father was in the Civil Service which would normally result in a life spent moving all over Pakistan. However, Zara was fortunate to have a stable home as her parents were careful not to interrupt her education at any time.

Zara’s enthusiasm for the world of photography resulted in many a cover on teen and fashion magazines. She made her debut on billboards across Pakistan as the “JaZZ Girl” for Pakistan’s leading cellular service provider – Mobilink GSM. The add campaign became an instant hit, and she began appearing on JaZZ commericials on Television and in newspapers and magazines.

Zara’s talent and hard work has resulted in her becoming one of Pakistan’s top actresses in a short period of time. She remains an exclusive actress for top banners, and only does 1 or 2 movies every 2 years. She prefers dividing her time between acting, performing in music videos and working as a top model in Pakistan. Some of her hit films include: Tere Pyar Mein(2001), Pehla Pehla Pyaar(2006), and Salakhein(2004). Zara is also showcasing her singing talents. She sang two songs for her movie Chalo Ishq Larain and also released a solo album which did extremely well in Pakistan and abroad.

Considered to be one of the most beautiful and talented actresses in Pakistani cinema, Zara is based in Lahore, although she travels frequently to Dubai, New York, Toronto and London for her acting and modeling assignments. Meera (Urdu: ????) is a movie actress from Pakistan. She is based in Lahore.

Through late 2004 and early 2005, she worked on her first Bollywood project Nazar, directed by Soni Razdan. This movie was the first joint production between India and Pakistan.

It was released in February 2005. It immediately landed in trouble with the Pakistani Government, who objected strongly to a scene where she kisses the hero (played by Ashmit Patel of India), on religious and moral grounds. Allegedly, Meera has been fined an undisclosed amount for the kiss. Reportedly, the Pakistani Government is also considering a ban on Pakistani actors from working on Indian projects.

Later doubts were placed on Meera’s claim that she had been fined when the Pakistani government denied placing any fines on Meera for the kiss. She had also claimed to have received death threats that were strongly disputed by her own colleagues.

Meera is also set to join the social work bandwagon in the footsteps of people like Imran Khan, Abrar ul Haq, Jawad Ahmad and Shehzad Roy. She is going to establish a social welfare organization that will provide shelter to homeless and needy women. The project will be named after her mother Shafqat Zehra. “A complex spread over an area of 16 acres of land will be constructed in Sheikhupura comprising a school, hospital and home for the needy and homeless women. My mother has donated land for the project. I myself will take care of the project. I know it is a tough job to complete such a big project but I am determined to do it,” Meera said.

Meera and fellow actress Veena Malik have criticised each other in interviews.

Meera was invited for India Pakistan peace March from Delhi to Multan on 23rd March 2005, It was lead by Dr.Sandeep Pandey , Magsaysay awardee.Mahesh Bhatt promoted the event in media.

Meera entered India from Delhi , when official entry point on visa was Mumbai. Delhi Airport Authority detained her for full day and were about to deport herback to pakistan. Harsha, organiser of the event and social activist rescued her after day long negotiatons with highly placed sources in delhi.
